ANNOUNCEMENT - Region 5 Selection of Candidates for Election as Governor for the Geographic Areas of Florida, Georgia, and Louisiana: 

Before Region 5 was created on October 18, 2006, the Society deadline for announcements of open governor positions passed and the Society did not announce these positions were open.  Instead, the Region 5 Board of Governors contacted each section president and asked that the Florida, Georgia, and Louisiana Sections determine all available potential candidates for these positions, evaluate the interested candidates and nominate one or two for selection by Region 5.  To fully support the candidates nominated and these sections, Region 5 asks that any member who believes they were overlooked in this transition process to please contact Nominating Committee Chair, Dr. Dennis Truax at Ph: 662.325.7187 or Truax@cee.MsState.Edu before February 23, 2007 in order to meet the society deadline of March 1, 2007.

Kathy Caldwell, P.E., Chair

Kathy Caldwell, P.E., graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1985, after which she was a structural designer for Lockwood Greene.  She moved to Austin, Texas in 1986 and joined Parkhill, Smith and Cooper as a consultant to the Texas DOHPT.  Kathy joined Jones Edmunds and Associates, Inc. in Gainesville, Florida in 1989 and established JEA Construction Engineering Services, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Jones Edmunds, in 1999.   She serves as President.  An active member of ASCE since 1983, Kathy was President of the UT Student Chapter, Gainesville Branch and of the Florida Section.  She also served as Chair of the ASCE National Committee on Student Services.
